Infant-Toddler Continuity of Care (6 weeks to 18 months)

Continuity of care is one of the key strategies First Presbyterian ELC uses to develop strong, supportive, and respectful relationships with the infants and toddlers in their program. In this approach, each child has the same primary caregiver (or the same team of caregivers) over a long period of time.

When children are treated with care and respect by a consistent primary caregiver, they form trusting human relationships that allow them to develop curiosity, courage, initiative, empathy, a sense of self, and a feeling of belonging to a friendly social community.

"They are family. My daughter has been attending FPELC since she was 8 weeks old and I couldn’t imagine leaving her anywhere else. Over the past year and a half they’ve become “her people” and my friends. They’ve taught not only her, but also me as a first-time mom. They provide the most safe, clean, and happy environment for her. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else."
